WORK WITH ME!

A Voice That Has Lived It

Cheryl Wright doesn't just speak about surviving trauma — she has lived it, named it, and chosen to speak it out loud. When Cheryl enters a room, she brings something no credential can manufacture: the authority of someone who has walked through the fire and come out standing.

She moves through the world with one driving conviction: to be for others what she did not have. That conviction is what makes her not just a speaker — but a witness.

Cheryl is a UC Berkeley alumna, President of the Cal Black Alumni Association, and the author of the memoir Still Standing: From Silence to Purpose. She is available for guest speaking engagements and panel discussions at survivor advocacy groups, faith communities, and universities and colleges committed to creating space for honest, healing conversations.

SHE SPEAKS ON:

Education as Liberation
For a girl the world had already counted out, education was the door that changed everything. It did not just create opportunity for her — it created resources that extended to her daughter, breaking a cycle that could have continued. This talk explores how knowledge — in every form — becomes a path toward independence, dignity, and a life that reaches further than your own.

Faith, Doing the Work & Finding Your Way Through
Faith was her foundation — but it was not the whole answer. This talk explores the honest intersection of spirituality and healing, and the hard truth that God's purpose for your life may include a therapist's office. Cheryl is not a therapist and she is not completely healed — but she is committed to doing the work. And she speaks to every person of faith who has been told to pray away pain that deserves to be properly tended to.

Breaking Generational Silence, Reclaiming Your Voice & Redefining Strength
How silence becomes survival — and what it means to stop carrying pain you did not create. Strength is not silence. It is not pretending. It is showing up, telling the truth, and choosing to keep going. This talk explores the journey from shame to purpose, and how speaking your truth can set you and those who come after you free — and how the worst chapters of your story can become the foundation for your most meaningful work.
